Name: Khong Kun Tak

Job Title: Engineer

Start Date: March 2020

What were your first feelings before joining WeMaintain? Did you have any apprehensions?

Before I joined WeMaintain, I didn’t know there were technologies that existed that were able to help the lift and escalator industry. I wasn’t sure whether I could fit in with WeMaintain as this was an alien concept to me. For my whole career, I’ve been maintaining and fixing lifts and escalators manually without the assistance of any tech, so I wasn’t sure how this might work.

How has the company changed since you started?

The company has grown considerably in size since I’ve started, but I’ve noticed what’s remained consistent and the same are the WeMaintain values; care, grit and uniqueness. I feel like I’ve taken on these values myself and that they’ve changed me as a person and how I approach situations. They make me feel comfortable at work.

What does a day at work look like for you?

My days at work are very enjoyable. Often they involve interacting with a number of different people, customers and different WeMaintain teams. When I require any help or assistance, all my teammates are really helpful and quick to offer a hand.

What do you like most about working at WeMaintain?

For me, it has to be the technology and the culture. The technology helps to decrease my workload but effectively deliver great results and the culture makes me feel comfortable when working. You can really feel the culture from everyone in the team, so although Paris and London are far from Singapore, the teams there are very helpful when we require any assistance or insights.

How does WeMaintain compare to your previous job roles?

WeMaintain’s culture is totally different compared to other companies I’ve worked for. I’ve found them to be so open and transparent with anything related to the business, there are no secrets and we’re all aware of what’s going on in the company. The technology and the culture are making the life of the lift engineer sexy again!

How likely are you to recommend WeMaintain as an employer?

10/10 I would recommend WeMaintain as an employer. I’m so happy to be a part of this company and I’m confident that anyone who gets to experience this would feel the same.
